I’ll give you what I think for each session:
Thursday,
12:25 Northridge Memphis under (Memphis games have gone over once in their last 10. Still can’t shoot freethrows and Northridge has a big guy named Townsend that is a good rebounder ie. no second chance points)
2:30 Take a flyer with Northern Iowa spread and small straight up (great free throw shooting team @ 75% ranked 17th in the country battle tested from the Missouri Valley Conference they will be ready to go. Purdue lives by the 3 and hopefully will die by the 3) recipe for upset special.
4:55 Washington spread (Missippi State is just happy to be there. They won the SEC championship last week by default. In the final 10 seconds there were three turnovers on the same inbounds play. The will get housed from the get go as Washington will run them out of the building.)
7:20 American spread (This spread has been increasing since it was posted. Rightfully so as they are playing Villanova in Phili. Watching American play last week they look ready for the task. 38% from 3 point range puts them at 43 in the country. Hope they have a good shooting day.)
9:50 UCLA spread (everyone is thinking VCU is a live dog. Don’t think that’s the case. Veteran team is going to lay the smack down on VCU most importantly UCLA Point Guard Collison has a 92% ft percentage. Give it to him at the end of the game and hopefully they cover the points)
Friday,
12:30 Utah St. Spread straight up (Marquette just not the same team without their star point guard injured for the season. Utah St. is number 1 in the country in FG% at 50%. Each possession matters and Marquette will turn it over a few times. Best assist to turnover ratio in the tournament belongs to Tyler Newbold of Utah State 4.1.)
2:45 Arizona State Spread (Big one of the first round. Match-up problems for Temple as Jeff Pendergraph is a beast in the middle for ASU. Temple played in the weak A-10 this year and got in because of a conference tournament win. ASU owns the 13th ranked FG% and 30th in FT%, they cover with ease)
7:20 USC Boston College Over (Both teams like to go up and down/ both teams have tournament experience and will not be intimidated by the stage. High scoring seesaw affair.)
9:50 Robert Morris spread (16th in the country with 39.7% from three hope they have a good shooting day. Balanced scoring and a fearless coach, when he found out about the match-up…. “I’m not sane. I cannot be sane because think about this statement I am about to make,” Rice said, his body nervously twittering. “I am actually thrilled, beyond belief, to be going to Minneapolis and taking a college basketball team to play against Michigan State. Just think about that for one minute. Who in their right mind would ever say that? But for us, the hard part was getting here and now, there is no fear in our hearts. There can’t be.”
Sounds good to me
