I recently finished my last day of journalism school. The next step is an internship to complete the program and begin my career. So far I have had no luck. I am looking in all the places that Canadian journalists should be looking, but I find it very difficult to understand (now that I have a degree and 2 diplomas) that no one is willing to hire me for free. I’m interested in working as hard as is necessary to be a successful journalist and in particular sports journalism. If anyone has any suggestions as to where to look next or who to talk to please post. Really disheartening and the college has not helped in any way shape or form which is also really frustrating. I would like someone to give me a chance as this is a classic case of in order to get experience you need experience. I’ve learned a lot at school and want to show an employer what I can do.
